Tool of the Week: Melies

At first, hearing about a tool that can make a movie from a single prompt is one of the most anxiety-inducing, AI doomsday creations imaginable. However, upon using Melies, you realize how far the tech is from actually creating high-quality stories. If anything, Melies demonstrates the limitations of technology in replicating human creativity.

That being said, Melies is actually really helpful for brainstorming and storyboarding. Put in that logline for your next script or project, and it will generate some amazing visuals to help get the ball rolling for you.

Runway 3rd Anual AIFF

The third annual AI Film Festival returns this spring to New York and LA to celebrate artists at the forefront of film and technology. Ten finalists will be selected and showcased at gala screenings in NYC and LA with over $60,000 in awards and sponsors like IMAX, NVIDIA, and Tribeca Festival.

Submissions are free and open until March 31st. Films must be between 1-10 minutes long and are category agnostic.
