Join us for Beyond the Human?: From the Metaphysical to the Physical, a symposium on AI and the arts presented by USC Arts Now and co-sponsored by USC Visions and Voices and the USC Center for Generative AI and Society. Curated by USC Vice Provost for the Arts Josh Kun and renowned artist Cai Guo-Qiang, this daylong event will explore AI's impact on the arts, addressing topics like the future role of artists, AI's potential to reshape human identity, and how AI intersects with both the physical and metaphysical.
Join Gen:48, a 48-hour short film competition where teams of 1-3 filmmakers have two days to create a 1-4 minute film. Running from 9 AM on September 14th to 9 AM on September 16th (EST), this third edition of the event is fully remote and open to filmmakers worldwide. The Culver Cup is selecting 50 top AI creators to push the limits of storytelling using cutting-edge generative AI tools. Participants will collaborate on a creative treatment from director David Slade (Black Mirror: Bandersnatch) and use 3D assets from Global Objects to craft a short film in just 3 weeks. With access to leading tools like Luma AI's Dream Machine and Playbook3D, creators will also receive educational resources to aid in their technical exploration.
The top eight short films will be showcased live in a head-to-head playoff format on October 14, 2024, during LA Tech Week at Culver Theater, where a panel of industry judges will choose a champion. Apply now for a chance to compete!
